This doll was a bit of challenge for me. For once, it has been awhile since I have done anything similar and I made the doll bigger than the original. The pattern was a free download from Martha Stewart's website when Emily Martin visited at her show. She has an etsy store where you can buy it, but they are 1/2 the size of what I made and she does not make that many so they go fast. I made some for my daughter's birthday and everyone loved them especially big girls. I am going to do one or two more so I can get better, but this is my first try at a big doll. What do you think?

Great job, Erika! It reminds me of a Holly Hobby doll I had when I was a little girl. How creative you are!
Wow, that's just beautiful. Challenging I bet but well worth it to see lose little girl enjoy their new doll. :D
Keep it up before long you'll be getting requests for more.
I also like the cat theme in her clothing. It's so you.
~so adorable...sweet...i had never had a doll like that...just hard plastic ones...yours looks like a wonderful friend to have by your side...keep creating! brightest blessings~
I LOVE her. And now my daughter wants one. She just saw the picture and asked "Can you make me a doll someday?" I didn't have the heart to tell her mommy is a deadbeat sew-er (wait, that says sewer), so I will have to try something before the 52 weeks are up. But there's no way I'd do anything that looked as good as yours.
fantastic! she is lovely and i think you need to make a whole tribe for her to hang with!
so much more personality than anything store bought. you have reminded me of a project i've thought about tackling ... hmmm ...
Hi Evelyn, this pattern is not mine so I don't make them to sale :) (pattern is from Emily Martin from the black apple) but I am working in one of my own. As a little girl I used to draw this girl with semi pony tails and a watermelon ( sort of) head so I am trying to remember and making the pattern...:)
Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments :)
